The piece was written for the MÜPA Music Competition 2020. The title is a combination of two things. The first part is derived from the name of the experimental jazz band Polar Bear, as their album Held on the Tips of Fingers was a clear influence on the material in the piece. The other part is inspired by the beer Bipolar Bear. The piece was awarded a prize in the MÜPA Music Competition in December 2020. The premiere was in January 2021 at the MÜPA Festival Theatre. The piece was performed by the ensemble MIKAMO, conducted by Csaba Ajtony.
